Abington – William M. Kelly 82 a 48 year resident of Abington died Wednesday December 30 after a period of failing health. He was the beloved husband of the late Helen (Miller) Kelly.
Born in Hull he was the son of the late Murray T. and Elsie (Wallace) Kelly. He attended both Quincy and Wollaston High and received his Associates Degree from Burdett College. Before his retirement he worked as a Senior Interviewer for the Department of Employment Security.
He was a veteran of the US Navy having served from 1945-1946 and was a member of the American Legion and the BPOE. He enjoyed both golf and bowling.
He is survived by his loving children Debra Kelly of Los Angeles, CA and Steven Kelly and his wife Hazel of Taunton, his grandchildren Todd Kelly and his wife Kelly of Middleboro and Steven, Rachel, Chris and Scott Kelly all of Taunton, his sister Jean Carmichael of Levittown, PA and his sister-in-law Betty Ann Kelly of Amherst as well as 3 great grandchildren. He was the grandfather of the late Timothy Kelly.
His service will be held Saturday January 2 at 5 PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel Plymouth Street (Rt. 58 at the rotary) Whitman. Visiting hours will be held two hours prior to the service from 3-5 PM.
