Roger Neal McIntyre, 56, of Irwinville, Georgia, died on Wednesday, December 30, 2009, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Friday, January 1, 2010 at the Irwinville Baptist Church with Rev. Ray Johnson, Elder Ed McIntyre and Glenn Lott officiating. The Eulogy will be given by Donna Wilder. Interment will follow in the Irwinville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Thursday evening at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mr. McIntyre was born September 6, 1953 in Ben Hill County to the late Neal Waldo McIntyre, Jr. and the late Nellie Ruth Thomas McIntyre. He lived in the Irwinville community most of his life, graduating from Irwin County High School in 1972 and was a graduate of Ben Hill-Irwin Technical College. Mr. McIntyre was a Rural Letter Carrier and a Cattle Farmer. He was a member of the American Angus Association, Rural Letter Carriers Association and a former member of the Georgia Cattlemen Association. Mr. McIntyre was a member of the Irwinville Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Kay Reeves McIntyre of Irwinville; son & daughter-in-law, Neal & Selena McIntyre of Irwinville; daughter, Brooke McIntyre Houston of Irwinville; adopted daughter, Crystal Brown of Irwinville; grandchildren, Lexi McIntyre and Reid Houston, both of Irwinville; brother and sister-in-law, Fred & Brenda McIntyre of Irwinville; mother-in-law, Inez Reeves of Irwin County;stepmother, Bobbie Jean McIntyre of Fitzgerald as well as several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Virgil McIntyre.
