Methuen, MA- Sister Germaine Beaupre, 95, died peacefully on Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at the Ste Claire Residence.
Sr. Germaine was born on September 19, 1914 in Biddeford, ME, the daughter of Nazarie and Evangeline Beaupre. She was educated in Biddeford, ME and in 1932 she entered the Presentation of Mary Novitiate in Saint Hyacinthe, Canada and pronounced her first vows February 2nd, 1935, taking the name of Sister Evangeline Marie.
She attended Rivier College in Nashua, NH where she received a B.E. degree, and also studied at Providence College in RI for 2 years. During her 50 year teaching career, she taught in Libson, Caribou, Lewiston, Biddeford, and Saco, ME, as well as in Berlin, NH. In August 1995, Sr. Germaine retired at the Ste. Claire residence in Methuen.
She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Priscilla and her husband John Tkatch, Roger Beaupre, Michael Beaupre, and Doris Quinn and her husband Tery, as well as many other nieces and nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. She was pre-deceased by her two younger brothers, Arthur and Paul-Emile.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects on Sunday, January 3rd, at the Ste Claire Residence 209 Lawrence St., in Methuen from 2-4 and 6-8PM. A Mass of Christian burial will take place on Monday at 2:30PM in the Presentation of Mary Chapel followed by burial at the Presentation of Mary Cemetery.
