Manchester– Robert Eusebe LeBlanc, 84, died December 24, 2009 at Villa Crest Nursing home following a brief illness.
He was born in Manchester on May 22, 1925 the son of Joseph and Bertha (Fregeau) LeBlanc.
He entered the 15th Army Air Corps in 1943 and took part in air combat missions in Central Europe and the Balkans. He was a nose gunner on the “Liberator” B-24 Bomber. He was awarded the Bronze and Silver Star and several Medals of Valor.
After the war he graduated from NH Technical Institute with an Electrical Degree. In January of 1960 he joined the Manchester Fire Department until his retirement in 1988.
He was a parishioner of St. Joseph Cathedral.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, gardening, fishing, and watching his favorite sports teams, the Red Sox and New England Patriots.
In His Life: Family members include his loving wife of 64 years, Muriel (Daneault) LeBlanc, whom he married on July 4, 1945 of Manchester, 2 sons, Rodney D. LeBlanc of Manchester, Gary H. LeBlanc and his wife Debra of Goffstown; one daughter, Gail M. Davis of TX.; 6 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 1 sister Doris Ellison of Manchester, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services: The family is planning a private memorial service at a later date.
