Maureen A. Brown, 59

Maureen A. (Malone) Brown, 59, of Mansfield passed away unexpectedly at home on Monday December 28, 2009. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard A. Brown who died on July 28, 2000.
Born in Boston, MA on August 2, 1950 she was a daughter of the late Francis X. and Winifred (Mullen) Malone.
Maureen grew up and was educated in the Dorchester section of Boston and was a graduate of Dorchester High School.
Mrs. Brown had worked for 10 years as a receptionist at the Mansfield Health Center and had previously been employed at Community Opticians in Downtown Boston and also as a cafeteria worker for the Mansfield School System.
A resident of Mansfield for over 25 years, Maureen enjoyed arts and dabbled in stain glass making. Along with her family she attended services at the Orthodox Congregational Church in Mansfield.
Her biggest joy in life was time spent with her family and especially playing with her grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking and her family will always remember with fondness her knack for “classic Irish cooking” and her amazing recipe for spaghetti sauce. She also looked forward to going out to breakfast with her girlfriends.
In addition to living in Mansfield, Mrs. Brown had also made her home in Norton for several years.
She is survived by her devoted and loving daughter Jennifer M. Johnson and her husband Matthew of Mansfield and her cherished grandchildren Colton Johnson and Tessa Johnson both of Mansfield. She was the sister of the late Diane Malone and is also survived her niece Sherrin Malone and 4 grand nieces.
Funeral services, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Monday January 4th at 11:00 A.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home 55 North Main St. Mansfield. Burial will follow in the Spring Brook Cemetery, Mansfield.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday January 3rd from 4-7 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, Maureen’s family has requested that donations in her memory be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
