Jennie V. (McCabe) Rich 84 years, of Brockton died unexpectedly on Christmas Day at the Signature Healthcare/Brockton Hospital. She was the wife for 58 years of the late Stanley E. Rich. Jennie was born in Brockton a daughter of the late James and Jennie (Lawson) McCabe and remained a lifelong resident of the city. A graduate of St. Patrick’s School, Jennie had worked in the ladies garment industry in Brockton for over 50 years and was a member of the Ladies Garment Manufacturers Union. Jennie had enjoyed camping with her husband in Maine and Cape Cod.
She is survived by her son Donald A. Rich and his wife Linda of No. Easton and two granddaughters Suzanne Rich of Norton and Kelly Ann Rich of Easton. She was the sister of Martha Connolly of Florida, Rose Capen of Oregon and the late Donald McCabe, Gerry Foley, James McCabe, Marilyn Anderson and Margaret Murphy. She was the sister in law of Ruth Lariviere. She also leaves several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St. (Rte 123) Brockton Monday 4-7 pm with a Prayer Service at 6:30 pm. Burial will be at a later date in Wendell Cemetery, Holbrook.
