Obituary

Witold Bulikowski
March 9, 1923 - December 23, 2009

WORCESTER__Witold Bulikowski, 86, of Worcester, passed away peacefully at home after a long battle with cancer. Witold was born in Poland and was a survivor of K.L. Auschwitz (1941-1944). Shortly after that he met and married his loving wife, Halina (March 11, 1947). Witold spoke English, Polish and German fluently so after escaping the hell of Auschwitz he served as an interpreter for the United Nation Relief and Rehabilitation Administration where he helped many Polish refugees, many of whom did not speak English. Witold and Halina had a son Casmir in 1949 in Germany and later came to the United States to live, work and raise two more sons, John Z. Bulikowski and Witold Bulikowski, Jr.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his three sons, Casmir, John and Witold Bulikowski Jr., daughters-in-law Elly, Carol and Robin Bulikowski and his beloved grandchildren, Leslie, Gregory, Christine, and Catherine Bulikowski. He will always be remembered for his giving spirit, quick wit, and always having a smile on his face and joy in his heart even after suffering through so much. Witold became a patriot after immigrating here. He frequently stated, "America is the greatest country in the world!"
