Obituary

DRACUT – Mrs. Demetra “Toula” (Padelopoulos) Georges, 86, of 10th Street, passed away Thursday December 24th at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born April 1, 1923 in Lowell, Massachusetts a daughter of the late Peter and Eleftheria Padelopoulos. Wife to the late John Georges, a restaurateur who passed on December 29, 1990.
Mrs. Georges was educated through the Lowell School system. After graduation she attended Lowell Academy Hairstyling Institute. Later she became an interior decorator but her primary role in life was as a loving wife and mother.
She sang in the choir of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church for many years. She was also a member of the Ladies Philoptochos Society, a philanthropic organization affiliated with the church, which is known for its charitable works.
She is survived by three sons, Charles Georges and his wife Lydia of Lowell, Thomas Georges and his wife ShaoJun of Dracut, Timothy Georges and his wife Joelyn of Dracut; a daughter, Ellen Nikas and her husband James of Hull; eight grandchildren, John, Selena, Mariana, Timothy, Christopher, and Matthew Georges, Jonathan and Alethea Nikas; also a great grandson, Caleb Lamouthe and a great granddaughter, Aaliyah Lamouthe.
She was the sister to the late Andronike Basinas, and Connie Angelo.
ARRANGEMENTS - Friends will be received at the M.R.LAURIN FUNERAL HOME 295 Pawtucket St. Lowell on Tuesday from 4 to 8p.m. The funeral will take place on Wednesday at 9a.m. from the Funeral Home to be followed by services at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church at 10am. Interment in Westlawn Cemetery . Memorial donations may be made in her memory to the D’Youville Senior Care, 981 Varnum Ave. Lowell, Ma. 01854. Funeral arrangements under the direction of Louis M. Fazio III, M. Richard Laurin, and Scott Laurin.
