Obituary

Mr. Thomas L. Conboy, age 79, passed away Monday at the Winchester Hospital following a lengthy illness. Born in Woburn he was the son of the late Thomas L. and Theresa (King) Conboy. He was the beloved husband of Irene A. (Slane) Conboy. Mr. Conboy was a life long resident of Woburn and was a graduate of St. Charles Elementary School and Woburn High School. He served in the United States Marine Corp during WWII participating in action against the enemy on the Kwajalein Atoll and in Okinawa from Feb. of 1944 to June of 1945. During his civilian life, Mr. Conboy worked for 49 years as an industrial engineer with the Raytheon Company. He retired in the early 1990´s. Mr. Conboy was a handyman and enjoyed gardening and working with his hands. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the American Heart Assoc. 20 Speen St. Framingham, MA 01701.

In addition to his beloved wife Irene, he is survived by one daughter, Maureen Conboy of Woburn, two sons, Mark of Woburn and Scott of Lowell. He is further survived by three loving grandsons, Sean, Scott Jr. and Ryan Conboy. He is also survived by his brother Bernard Conboy and his sister Eileen Walsh both of Woburn. He is preceded in death by his sister Marjorie Humphrey.

Funeral from the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home 60 Pleasant St. Woburn, Thursday at 9 AM. Followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Anthony Church 851 Main St., Woburn at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Wednesday 3 thru 7.
