WORCESTER-Veronica A. (Maynard) Hill, 63, of 15 Maybrook Place, formerly of Princeton, died Monday, September 15th at home after a courageous battle with cancer. She leaves a son, Jesse T. Hill of Woburn, a daughter, Christina H. Whitney of Worcester, her sister, Catherine Maynard of Acton and a foster sister Mary Wormholm of Worcester. Four grandchildren, Jonathan and Katrina Whitney of Worcester and Rachel and Thomas Hill of Woburn also survive her. A companion with whom she lived, Michael Morrissey, his two children; Patricia and Kevin Morrissey; and his three grandchildren, Daniel, Connor and Mary Kate Morrissey; several nephews, nieces and her former husband, Jesse T. Hill, II. Veronica was predeceased by her daughter, Veronica A.Hill.
Veronica (Ronnie) was born in Worcester, the daughter of Joseph E. and Veronica A. (Lundy) Maynard. Ronnie lived in Princeton for 20 years prior to moving back to Worcester. She graduated from St. Peter’s High School, Anna Maria College and Worcester State College. Ronnie taught first grade in the Worcester Public School system for 16 years. Prior to that she taught music for 10 years. Ronnie was a member of St. Andrew the Apostle Church; she was the Church’s first organist and played the organ for 15 years. She was a member of the Wachusett Kennel Club and enjoyed showing Pointers and Dachshunds. She loved to travel, go on cruises, and enjoyed bingo and music.
The funeral mass will be Thursday, September 18th at 10:00 AM in St. Andrew the Apostle Church, 5 Spaulding Street, Worcester Burial will be at Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to VNA Care Network, Inc., Development Office, 120 Thomas Street, Worcester, MA 01608-1280.
