Mrs. Rita A. (Levesque) Hickey, of Taunton, died Wednesday, December 23, in Morton Hospital following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late John F. “Jack”
Hickey. She was born 89 years ago in Taunton, the daughter of the late Honore and Alice (Baril) Levesque. She was educated in Taunton and had been a lifelong city resident. Mrs. Hickey had formerly been employed by Metals and Controls in Attleboro. She also assisted her late husband with food preparation for the former Hickey’s Diner, which he operated on Taunton Green from 1944 to 1986, along with his catering business. She was a member of the Queen’s Daughters. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, reading, and was an avid New York Yankees fan and a hockey fan. She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church.

Mrs. Hickey was also the sister of the late Roland, Roger, Raymond, Robert
Levesque and Helen Bagge.
Funeral services will be held from The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, on Tuesday, December 29 at 9:00 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Church at 10:00 A.M. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Relatives and
friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours will be held on Monday, from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M.
