Robin J. Santiago-Michaud, 42, of New Bedford died Wednesday December 23, 2009 peacefully at Brigham and Women's Hospital after a long illness.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of John M. Santiago and and the late Madonna (Adriano) Santiago, she lived in New Bedford all of her life.
Robin was an volunteer for the American Red Cross, where she was a CPR and First Aid instructor and disaster responder. She was active in the Brownies and Girl Scouts. She enjoyed crafts and spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include her father John and his wife Martha (Brewster) Santiago; her daughter, Shashawna Santiago; three sisters, Susan Sylvia and her husband Bruce, Roxanne Fletcher and Dawn Santiago; a brother, Todd J. Santiago; a stepbrother, Michael Reuter; her companion, Edward Nelson; and nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was the sister of the late Jon J. Santiago and Maurice J. Santiago.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 AM in Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery.
