Gertrude M. (MacNeill) Slauenwhite of W. Bridgewater died Tuesday December 22, 2009 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center. She was the wife of the late Blake E. Slauenwhite. Gertrude was born in Malden, a daughter of the late Ralph and Mary Louise (Hathaway) MacNeill. Gertrude had worked as a welder for the Fore River Shipyard during WW II and also worked for the former Coats Field Department Store for many years. She was a former member of the Pine Valley Golf Course. Gertrude loved to read and enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is survived by a daughter Louise A. Gallagher of Brockton and a son Blake C. Slauenwhite of W. Bridgewater; two brothers John MacNeill of CA and Charles MacNeill of CO; four grandchildren Kim Silvia, Maureen Ellis, Blake A Slauenwhite and Brianne Slauenwhite; three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Ralph, Donald and Robert MacNeill.
Funeral from the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Thursday at 10am. Funeral Mass in St. Ann Church, W. Bridgewater at 11am. Burial in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne at 1pm. Visiting hours Wednesday 4-7pm. In lieu of flowers donations in Trudie’s name may be made to the American Lung Association of Massachusetts 460 Totten Pond Road Waltham, MA 02451.
