Theresa A. (Bernard) Sylvain, age 69, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 19th, 2009 at the Southern Maine Medical Center in Biddeford, Maine after a long illness.
She was born in Lowell on Nov. 9, 1940, a daughter of the late Walter and Cecile (Bourque) Bernard. She was a longtime resident of Kennebunk, Maine for 30 years where she attended St. Monicas Parish.
Theresa had a great zest for life and loved singing, dancing and cooking.
She is survived by her children, Renee Smaha and her husband David of Portland, ME, Steven Sylvain and his wife, Beatriz of Augusta, ME, and Nicole Sylvain; her foster daughter, Robin Demers and her husband, Matt of N. Reading; a sister, Patricia Cambray and her husband Armand of Dracut; her former husband, Raymond Sylvain; five grandchildren, Ricky Sylvain, Sarah Jeanne Smaha, A.J. Smaha, Joelle Demers and Logan Demers; also many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Barbara Bernard.
Relatives and friends may call at the M. R. LAURIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 295 Pawtucket St., Lowell on Monday morning, Dec. 28 from 8 until 10 o'clock followed by her Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10:30am at The Parish of St. Rita, Mammoth Rd., Lowell.
