New Bedford – Viola M. (Newell) DeMoranville, 93, of N. Dartmouth died surrounded by her loving family on September 8, 2003 after a long illness. She was the widow of Alden E. DeMoranville. She died at Blaire House of New Bedford.
She was born in Woonsocket, RI daughter of the late Charles and Lucy (Giguere) Newell and resided in N. Dartmouth since 1946. She was a communicant of St. Julie Billiart Church, N. Dartmouth. She was employed by Acushnet Company, New Bedford until her retirement in 1959.
Mrs. DeMoranville enjoyed crocheting and knitting, was an avid reader and loved music.
Survivors include a daughter: Delores L. Barksdale and her husband Charlie C. of Sebring, FL; 11 grandchildren: David Reynolds and his wife Susan of Middleboro, Steven Reynolds and his wife Maureen of Cumberland, RI, Jeanne Blessinger and her husband David of Cumberland, RI, Earle H. Bercier of VA, Michael J. Bercier of Winter Haven, FL, Linda Santos and her husband Edward of Mulberry, FL, Debra Rensberger of New Bedford, Joseph Bercier and his wife Sally of New Bedford, Diane Antonietta of Fairhaven, Robert Antonietta and his wife Jackie of New Bedford and Susan O’Brien and her husband Paul of N. Dartmouth; 18 great-grandchildren; 6 great great-grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be held Monday, September 15, 2003 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Julie Billiart Church, N. Dartmouth followed by interment in Evergreen Cemetery, N. Dartmouth.
