Caiani, Nora T. (Joyce) of Woburn, formerly of Medford, December 22nd. Beloved wife of the late Alexander B. Caiani. Devoted mother of Maria Bunten and her husband David of Reading, Bernardo Caiani and his wife Maria of Woburn, Loving grandmother of David Bunten Jr. and his wife Erin, and Chiara Caiani. Cherished sister of Helen McGuirk of Wollaston, Catherine Leary of Weymouth, Michael Joyce Jr. of Colorado, the late Mary McDevitt, William and Richard Joyce. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Funeral from the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant Street, WOBURN Tuesday, December 29th, at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. St. Charles Church, 280 Main St., Woburn, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Monday 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn. Mrs. Nora T. Caiani, age 85, of Woburn formerly of Medford passed away following a lengthy illness at the Sawtelle Hospice House in Reading on December 22nd. She was the beloved wife of the late Alexander B. Caiani. Born in the Dorchester section of Boston where she was raised and educated, she was the daughter of the late Michael J. and Mary (Fitzgerald) Joyce.
In recent years Mrs. Caiani lived at the Woburn Housing Authority apartments on Campbell St. where she made many wonderful friends and enjoyed staying active and loved to lift people's spirits with her Irish wit and humor. Always wanting to put a smile on the faces of friends and family, Mrs. Caiani will be remembered for her generous card giving. She would send cards to family and friends for all occasions, never missing a birthday or holiday, especially Halloween which was her favorite, any special event or just a card that she was thinking of you.
Mrs. Caiani had many talents and during WWII and following the end of the War, she along with her two sisters, Helen and Kay, formed The Joyce Sisters Trio. Together they entertained hospitalized servicemen with the Red Cross, the USO, American Theatre Wing in Boston, the US Naval Hospital at the Charlestown Naval Yard, the Portsmouth, NH Naval Base, and Camp Edwards in Falmouth, MA. She was also a soloist with the Dorchester Centre Community Chorus in the early 1940's and later in life she worked for a number of years at the Hood Robber Co. of Watertown.
In addition to her late husband and parents. Mrs. Caiani is predeceased by her sister, Mary McDevitt, and brothers, William and Richard Joyce. She is survived by her loving children, Maria Bunten and her husband David of Reading, Bernardo Caiani and his wife Maria of Woburn. She was the loving grandmother of Chiara Caiani, and David Bunten Jr. and his wife Erin. She is also survived by her brother, Michael Joyce of Colorado, sisters, Helen McGuirk of Wollaston and Catherine Leary of Weymouth. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
