Mary (Teixeira) Brown, 92, a lifelong resident of Norton passed away on Wednesday December 23, 2009 at Marian Manor in Taunton.
Born in Norton, MA on March 22, 1917 she was a loving daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Fasero) Teixeira.
Mary was educated in Norton schools and was a graduate of Norton High School. She had been employed as a Bookkeeper at the Midway Garage in Norton for 20 years before retiring in 1993.
A communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Norton Mary was a hard worker throughout her life and it showed in the appearance of her yard that she maintained single handedly. She also enjoyed tending to her gardens and will be fondly remembered for her exceptional cooking skills.
Sister of the late Carmen Barros, she is survived by her nephew Ronald Barros of Rehoboth and his former wife Kay Greenfield of North Attleboro. She is also survived by her grandnephews James Barros of Norton and Kristopher Barros of Brockton.
Her funeral mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Monday December 28th at 9:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church 133 South Worcester St. Norton. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Taunton.
Visiting hours have been omitted and in lieu of flowers donations in Mary’s memory may be made to St. Mary’s Church Building Fund 1 Power St. Norton, MA 02766.
