Obituary

WEBSTER - Germaine B. (Morgan) Berthiaume, 97, went to join her husband on December 21, 2009.

She leaves two sons, Roger J. Berthiaume of Webster and Ronald B. Berthiaume and his wife Betty of Lunenburg; a daughter-in-law, Betty Berthiaume of Auburn; 11 grandchildren, Barry and his wife Laurie, Roy and his wife Linda, Danny, Mark and his wife Kirsten, Brian and his wife Kim, David and his wife Danielle, Debbie, Lionel, Mikael, Kevin and Robyn; 13 great grandchildren, Kurt, Tommy, Lauren, Kyle, Jillian, Nicole, Lindsay, Johnny, Jack, Barry, Drew, Kayla and Morgan; a close niece, Pauline Dziembowski as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 23 years Lionel W. Berthiaume in 1958, by her son, Richard D. Berthiaume in 2001, by her 5 brothers Gerald, Camille, Adrian, Gene and Roland Morgan, and by her sister Claire Ducharme.

She was born in Webster on November 18, 1912, a daughter of John and Clara (LaPointe) Morgan and lived in Webster most of her life. She graduated from Saint Anne’s School Commercial Course.

Mrs. Berthiaume worked as a clerk at W. T. Grant Company and later at A. M. Kouri before she retired in 1990.

She was a daily communicant of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church and a member of its Ladies of Saint Anne. For many years, she sewed the robes used for Baptism. She was active in the Cub Scouts as a den mother. She also organized trips for Collette Tours. She enjoyed sewing and playing cards. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

The family would like to pay special thanks to the staff at Oakwood Rehab & Nursing Center for the loving care they gave to our matriarch.

The funeral will be held Monday, December 28, from Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main St., with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 16 East Main St. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Sunday, December 27, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations in her honor may be made to Oakwood Rehab & Nursing Center, 11 Pontiac Avenue, Webster, MA 01570.
