TAUNTON – Mary J. (Rego) Butler, 99, died at Marian Manor on Dec. 15, 2009.
Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Ester (Pedro) Rego.
Raised and educated in Attleboro, she moved to Taunton with her husband, the late Joseph Butler, many years ago.
A communicant of St. Mary’s Church, Mrs. Butler was content in her role as homemaker, and enjoyed cooking and baking, especially during the holiday season.
She also enjoyed knitting afghans, and will be remembered for her practice of bestowing her many creations on friends and neighbors during WW II.
The mother of the late Joseph Butler, Jr., she is survived by several nieces and nephews.
She was also the sister of the late Manuel Rego, Lillian Cardoza and Rose Rego.
A memorial mass will be held at the Marian Manor Chapel, 33 Summer St. Taunton on Thursday, Dec. 31st at 10:45 a.m.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
