GLOUCESTER: Seraphino A. “Sophie” Randazza, 65, of Angle Street, died unexpectedly on Thursday, December 17, 2009 in the Beth-Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston.
Born in Gloucester on March 31, 1944, he was the son of the late Joseph and Pauline (Aiello) Randazza. He was a lifelong resident of Gloucester and graduate of the Gloucester High School class of 1962. He was also a graduate of Northeast Institute of Industrial Technology with an associate’s degree in electrical engineering.
From 1970 to 1995, he and his brother, Sam, were partners in the former Randazza Bros. Appliance Repair Shop on Washington Street.
He is survived by his two sisters and brothers-in-law, Grace and Ralph Stanton, Jenny and Joseph Parisi, two brothers and sisters-in-law, John and Dorothy Randazza and Salvatore “Sam” and Mary-Agnes Randazza, his sister-in-law, Mary Lee Randazza and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. He was also predeceased by his siblings, Thomas Randazza, Ann and her husband, Jack Parisi, Joseph Randazza, Paul Randazza, and Mary and her husband, Neil S. Matthews, Sr.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, January 23rd in the Holy Family Parish, St. Ann Church at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. There are no visiting hours.
