Obituary

Worcester – Paul D. Roy, 58, of Worcester quietly passed to the other side of life on Monday, December 21st after a long illness.

Paul is survived by his wife of 35 years Deborah M. (Raymond) Roy who patiently and lovingly cared for him during these last few years. He is also survived by a son Dennis P. Roy of Cranberry Township, PA; two daughters Mindy M. Roy of Dudley, MA and Stephanie J. Roy of Worcester, MA; three brothers Reverend Michael J. Roy, Pastor of Sacred Heart Church in Webster, Richard F. Roy and Jack R. Roy both of Worcester, MA; three grandchildren Nathan Paul Moore, Andrew R. Roy and Julia M. Roy and many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Roy was born in Worcester son of the late Frank J. Roy and Marguerite (Rushford) Roy and graduated from Burncoat High School. He worked as a welder for the Rex Nord Chain and Belt Company and later worked as a custodian at St. Joseph’s Church.

Paul whole heartedly supported his children’s interest in sports at the Maranville Little League where he also volunteered for many years. He was an avid fan of wrestling but was most happy when he was spending time with his grandchildren.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, December 24th at 11 AM in St. Joseph’s Church 35 Hamilton St. Burial will be at a later date in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours are on Wednesday, December 23rd from 5 to 8 PM in the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. The family requests that flowers be omitted and memorial contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association MA Office 330 Congress St. 5th Floor Boston, MA 02110.
