Obituary

Donald F. Hennessey, passed away Sunday morning at the Lahey clinic in Burlington after a extended illness, the husband of Marie Rita (Arvisais) Hennessey. He was seventy-six years old.

Born and raised in Chelsea he was the son of the late Mary (McCann) and Frank L. Hennessey. Donald served in the US Navy during World War II, and after the war was employed by the Boston Globe for over forty years, he was a avid golfer and a devoted family man and particulary enjoyed his grandchildren.

Donald was preceeded in death by his two brothers the late Francis L. and David J. Hennessey.

Surviving along with his wife, are two sons; Francis L. Hennessey of Medford and Thomas W. Hennessey of Yarmouth Port, two daughters Donna Fenniman of Dover, NH., and Elaine Bowser of Winchester, His grandchildren Jerry Bowser Jr., Kristi Bowser, William Fenniman III, Blaire Fenniman, Kaylie and Cameron Hennessey. Also three sisters; Leona Dolan of West Roxbury, Eileen Hennessey of Arlington and Marie Kelley of Woburn. A son in law Police Chief William Fenniman of Dover, NH and his daughter in law Lida Hennessey of Yarmouth Port. Also many nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be from the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home 60 Pleasant St. Woburn on Wednesday, September 17, at 9 a.m., followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Barbara Church, 138 cambridge Rd. Woburn at 10. Services will conclude with burial at Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn

Visiting Hours at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 16, from 2-4 & 6-9.
