Charles Thomas PYLES, Sr. died in Louisville, KY at Bashford East Health Care Center on Thursday, December 17, 2009 at the age of 85.
He served in the U.S. Navy as a Third Class Gunner’s Mate in World War II.
He retired as a sheet metal mechanic from Philip Morris USA. He enjoyed his dogs, gardening, playing cards, and giving his wife flowers. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary Margaret (Lish) Pyles; seven children, Mary Lou Swelnis (Joe), Tom Pyles, Jr. (Debbie), Carolyn Blackbourn (Mark), Larry Pyles , Tina Casey (Marvin), Denise Pyles, and Gina Ramser; 16 grand children; seven great grandchildren; two brothers Bobby Pyles, Mike Pyles; and one sister Darlene Pyles.
Funeral Mass will be 10 am Monday at St. Louis Bertrand Catholic Church, 1104 S 6Th Street with burial to follow in Holy Trinity Catholic Church Cemetery, Springfield, KY.
Visitation will be 2-6 pm Sunday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to be sent to Hosparus or the Kentucky Humane Society.
