Mary (Silvia) Carreiro, 83, of Westport died Thursday, December 17, 2009 at St. Anne’s Hospital. She was the wife of Louis G. Carreiro.
Born in Fall River, she was daughter of the late Manuel and Rose (Sousa) Silvia. Mrs. Carreiro was the owner/operator of Countryside Beauty Shoppe in Westport. She was a Communicant of Our Lady of Grace Church, Westport where she was also a member of the former Couple’s Club. She was an avid Boston Red Sox fan.
Including her husband, she is survived by 2 sons: Louis G. Carreiro, Jr. of Westport and Russell P. Carreiro of Westport; a brother: Manuel T. Silvia of San Diego, CA; 5 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was sister of the late Manuel M. Silvia.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Tuesday, December 22, 2009 from the Potter Funeral Home at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Grace Church, Westport at 10:00 A.M.
Calling hours Monday 5-8 P.M.
Interment in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
