New Bedford- Evelyn B. Souza age 80 died Wednesday, December 16, 2009 unexpectedly at St. Luke’s Hospital. Evelyn was the beloved wife of the late Raymond D. Souza. She was the mother of Rachel Souza of New Bedford, Judy Abatte of Florida, Rebecca Souza of New Bedford, and David and his wife Sharon Souza of Dartmouth. Niece of Natalie Paiva and her husband Humberto. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 3 great- grandchildren.
Mrs. Souza was the daughter of the late Mary (Eleuterio) Dupuis. Evelyn was born in New Bedford and lived in this area all of her life. She was employed as a trimmer at Gosnald Mill and also worked at York Wong restaurant.
Mrs. Souzas’ Funeral will be Monday at 8 A.M. at Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St., with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 9 A.M. Visiting hours will be Sunday from 3- 6 P.M. Burial will be Private.
