Ruth Rowell Roberts, 53, of Chula, died Wednesday, December 16, 2009, at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta.
Funeral services will be held 2 P.M., Sunday, December 20 at Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald with Rev. Jack Perrin officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-9 Saturday evening at the funeral home .
Mrs. Roberts was born April 22, 1956 in Ocilla to Gertrude Dorminy Rowell and the late Herman E. Rowell. She lived in Ben Hill and Irwin counties all of her life, graduating from Fitzgerald High School in 1974. Mrs. Roberts was co-owner of TRT Trucking and Turner County Mini Storage and owner of Golden Ag Service, all in Ashburn. She was a member of Englewood Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Tony Roberts of Chula; daughters and son-in-law, Laina Melissa & Turner Thomason of Bremen and Montie E. Roberts of Chula; son, Damon Garrett Roberts of Chula; mother, Gertrude Rowell of Fitzgerald; brother & sister-in-law, Herman E. & Wanda Rowell, Jr. of Chula; sisters and brother-in-law, Cathy Coleman of Woodstock, Linda Gibbs of TyTy, Ann Dale of Fitzgerald and Janet & Herbert Darryl Fulghum of Sparks as well as several nieces and nephews. Along with her father, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter and two brothers.
