Lisa Ann (Jacques) Gerrish, 39, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 17, 2009.
Lisa, the wife of Richard Gerrish and mother of Lauren (12) and Clara (9), was born in Fall River, MA on October 30, 1970.
In addition to her husband and children, Lisa is survived by her parents, Pierre and Diane Jacques of Lady Lake, FL, formerly of New London, CT, and her brother Roger and his wife Jill and nieces Bonnie and Kayla of Uncasville, CT. She also leaves behind her beloved dogs Bullet, a Labrador Retriever and Max, a Great Dane.
Lisa graduated from New London High School in 1989 and the New London Hairdressing Academy in 1991. She loved hairdressing and was a very talented hairdresser.
In 2005, Lisa was awarded Volunteer of the Year at Eastern Point Elementary School in Groton for her tireless volunteer work for the benefit of the school children. Lisa was a lover of animals and volunteered at the Connecticut Humane Society, where she fostered two Labrador Retriever puppies until they were old enough to be placed in homes.
Lisa was very proud of her Canadian heritage and enjoyed learning about the history of her ancestors.
Lisa’s greatest love was her two beautiful girls, and she cherished every moment spent with her family. She will be deeply missed, and her loved ones will be sustained by the many warm memories they have of her.
Her family will greet relatives and friends at The Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Historic downtown Mystic on Monday from 6-8pm. A Memorial Eucharist will be celebrated at St. Mark's Episcopal Church on Tuesday at 11am. Private burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery, Mystic.
