Yvonne V. (Shibel) Bogannam, 94, of Methuen passed away on Monday, December 14, 2009 at her home in Methuen.
Yvonne was born, raised and educated in Lawrence. She was a graduate of Lawrence High School. She worked for many years at the Lawrence Mills in the textile industry until her retirement. She then dedicated her life to raising her family. Yvonne belonged to St. Joseph’s Church in Lawrence and was a 65 year member of the Weetomps Council, No. 66, Degree of Pocahontas. In her free time she enjoyed knitting, cooking for her family, playing bingo and going out for a little lunch.
Yvonne is predeceased by her husband Ferris J. Bogannam, a son, Richard Bogannam, a grandson, Scott Bogannam and a sister Emily Karram. She leaves her two sons, Daniel Bogannam of Eliot, ME and Kenneth Bogannam and his wife Maryann of Tewksbury, MA, three brothers, Charles Shibel and his wife Gladys of West Covina, CA, Edward Shibel of Michigan, Frederick Shibel and his wife Joan of Syracuse, NY, and a sister, Vivian Oliveri and her husband James of Methuen, MA, 7 grandchildren, Jeffrey, Kerri and her husband Lorenzo, Lisa and her husband Alex, Danielle and her husband Greg, Michael and his wife Kesha and Peter, 4 great-grandchildren, Mia, Kashief, Taheera and Ezra, a daughter-in-law, Gloria Bogannam , several nieces and nephews, and many dear friends at the Cedar Homes in Methuen where she resided.
Friends are invited to call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday December 17th, 2009 at the Charles F. Dewhirst Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen. A funeral service will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church in Lawrence. Burial will follow at United Lebanese Cemetery, Andover.
