Obituary

Alice (Drohan) Lamond, 97 years of Brockton died Saturday, December 12, 2009 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center. She was the wife of the late Fred J. Lamond. Born in Brockton, daughter of the late Dr. James H. and Margaret L. (Saxton) Drohan. Mrs. Lamond has been a lifelong resident of Brockton, a graduate of Brockton High School Class of 1930 and Bridgewater Normal School Class of 1933. She started teaching at Keith School, Copeland School and taught at the Ellis Brett School for over 20 years. Mrs. Lamond was a member of the retired Massachusetts Teachers Association and former member of the 20th Century Catholic Club. She had been also a trustee of the Pilgrim Foundation since 1980 and a longtime communicant of St. Edward Church. Mrs. Lamond enjoyed traveling and time spent at her home in Falmouth Heights.

She is survived by two nephews Bing Hickey of Brockton, Dwayne Drohan of Arlington, two nieces, Anne Petronelli of North Easton and Michelle Farren of Halifax. She was the sister of the late William B. Drohan, Agnes M. Drohan, James E. Drohan, Margaret (Drohan) Martin, Thomas S. Drohan and Gerald P. Drohan.

A Funeral Mass was held Tuesday at St. Edith Stein Church followed by burial at Calvary Cemetery.
