Linda Jo Howard, 62, of Oxford, MS died December 14, 2009 at North MS Medical Center in Tupelo, MS. Born May 25, 1947 in Dyersburg, TN to James Franklin and Jo Hurd Lowery, she developed a talent for painting murals and on canvas. She also had a nursing career, first in Memphis, TN and later in Oxford, MS. Her family and grandchildren were a special treasure to her. Linda Jo was a member of Adonai Church in Panola County.
Visitation will be held at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS on Thursday, December 17, 2009 from 5:00 until 7:00 PM. Bro. Roger Howell of Adonai Church will conduct the 1:00 PM graveside service at Yellow Leaf Cemetery in Lafayette County on Friday, December 18, 2009. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Lowery, Andy Campbell, Reed Lowery, Chad Boggan, Bobby Bryant, and Mitchell Cannon.
Survivors include her husband, Dale Gene Howard of Oxford, MS; a daughter, Renee’ Hallford of Robertsdale, AL; a son, Greg Howard and his wife, Machelle of Oxford, MS; her mother, Jo Lowery of Covington, TN; two sisters, Sherry Campbell of Covington, TN and Susan Lewis of Millington, TN; one brother, Jimmy Lowery of Atoka, TN; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, James Franklin Lowery.
