Grace E. Byrne, 85, a resident of Andover, MA., formerly of Lawrence, MA., passed away on Saturday, December 12, 2009 at the Wingate at Andover.
Born in Lawrence, she was the daughter of the late James J. Byrne and Grace (Sullivan) Byrne. Ms. Byrne was a graduate of Lowell Teachers College and was retired from Lawrence High School where she taught typing and bookkeeping for many years. She was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish, formerly St. Augustine Parish in Lawrence.
She leaves several cousins including: Virginia Bonenfant of Milford, NH, Marion Chafetz of Washington, D.C., and John Donovan of San Rafael, CA. Ms. Byrne is also survived by her good friend, Mary Bradley of Lawrence.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, December 17, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. in Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish- St. Augustine Chapel, 128 Ames St., Lawrence, MA. Burial will follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, also in Lawrence.
