Obituary

Frank Vincent Burger, a lifelong resident of Medford, died at the Winchester Nursing Center on Sunday evening, December 13, 2009. He was 85 years old.
Born in Medford, Massachusetts, on May 29, 1924, he was the beloved son of the late Frank V. and Anna M. (Peterson) Burger. Frank was proud to have served as a WWII Army veteran, enlisting in the military at Ft. Devens on March 9, 1943. While serving in the Army, Mr. Burger worked as a Tool Room Keeper, was a qualified Rifle Marksman and was a 2nd C1 Gunner. Vincent saw action in Normandy, Rhineland and Central Europe and was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, Mid Eastern Theater Campaign Ribbon and the Victory Medal. He received his honorable discharge from Ft. Devens on December 1, 1945.
In civilian life, Mr. Burger was employed by Gillette as a Master Machinist, as well as Delta Air Lines and Revere Sugar. He was a longtime and Past Master of the Samuel Crocker Masonic Lodge and was a life member of the VFW Post # 1012. He was also a lifelong member of the Grace Episcopal Church of Medford.
He will be sorely missed by his former wife; Mildred S. (Doe) Burger, loving children; Carl V. Burger of Ridgefield, Washington and Karen L. Burger of Cambridge, one grandson; Sidney Burger and two great-grandchildren; Christian Burger and Sylvia Burger.
His Funeral Service was celebrated in the Grace Episcopal Church, 160 High Street, Medford, on Thursday, December 17, 2009, at 12 o’clock. Many relatives and friends were in attendance.
