Andre E. Clement, 70, of 2600 Lakeshore Drive died September 11, 2003 in Lakes Region General Hospital. He was born in Manchester NH on August 20, 1933, the son of Alfred S. and Amanda (Rivard) Clement.
He was raised in Manchester and following his graduation from St. Joseph High School for Boys, he enlisted in the Navy. After his discharge he returned to the Manchester area and was employed for four years at Manchester Hosiery Mills. He joined Prudential Insurance Company as a sales representative. For the next thirty-one years he enjoyed a successful sales career with the company and served as the manager of the Bedford District Office.
Following his retirement from Prudential, he moved to Gilford and was employed at Ellacoya State Park as an assistant supervisor until he became ill.
Mr. Clement is a member of the Laconia Lodge of Elks #876, and was a former member of both the Pinardville Lions Club and the Pinardville Athletic Club. His family and friends were warmed by his wonderful sense of humor. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf and especially playing cards.
Family members include his wife of 47 years, Lucille J. (Chapdelaine) Clement of Gilford; four daughters, Judy Varrill of Loudon, Joanne Chicoine of Goffstown; Susan Clement of Allenstown, and Sylvia Lacasse of Gilmanton Iron Works; a son, Daniel Clement of Hancock ME; ten grandchildren, Elizabeth Pothier, Justin Chicoine, Stephanie Pothier, Austin Chicoine, Lindsey Lacasse, Christopher Clement, Danielle Varrill, Morgan Clement, Andrea Halvorsen and Dana Halvorsen; a great grandson, Jonah Poulin; four sisters, Doris Dupuis of Goffstown, Pauline Thibaudeau of Goffstown, Madeline Clement Gauthier of Covington GA and Therese Daniels of Goffstown; three brothers, Romeo Clement of Goffstown, Gerard Clement of Salt Lake City Utah and Maurice Clement of Tilton; many nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by a brother, Edgar Clement and a sister, Stella Allaire.
Calling hours were in the Simoneau & Lambert Funeral Home, 139 Church St., Laconia on Sunday from 1 to 4 PM. A Memorial Mass was celebrated in Sacred Heart Church, 291 Union Ave on Monday at 11:30 AM. Rev. Adrien Longchamps, pastor was the celebrant. Urn burial was held Oct. 29th in the NH Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen.
