WORCESTER-Stephen Stratton, 75, of Worcester, died Saturday, December 12th in Holy Trinity Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. His wife of 34 years, Eleanor A. “Ellie” (Boudreau) Stratton, died in 2005. He leaves a son, Matthew Stratton and his wife Julie of West Boylston; a stepson, Steven Martin of Los Angeles, CA; four daughters, Susan Perry and her husband Reggie of West Warwick, RI, Wanda and Stephanie Stratton and Deidre Drakes and her husband Raju, all of Fitchburg; two brothers, Menelaos “Mike” Efstratios and his wife Marlene of West Boylston and Straty Efstratios of Worcester; his sister, Statia Zoulas and her husband Steve of Leicester; twelve grandchildren, Tyler, Natalie, Cole and Egan Perry, Sophia Stratton, Rebekah, Olivia, Victoria and Graciana Drakes, Timothy Martin and his wife Kim and Brandon and Kelly Martin; two great granddaughters, Ciera Rose and Autumn; his niece and caregiver, Judy Walker and her family, of Gardner; and several nephews and nieces.
Mr. Stratton was born in Worcester, the son of John and Chrysoula (Stefanou) Efstratios. He was a graduate of the Stockbridge School of Agriculture. Mr. Stratton owned the 1772 House in Gardner, Jones Farm, and Fitchburg House of Pizza. Mr. Stratton was a member of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, its Senior Citizens, the Order of AHEPA, the Napoleon Club in Gardner and the Gardner Municipal Golf Course. He was an avid golfer and bowler.
The funeral is Thursday, December 17th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a service at 10:00 AM in St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 102 Russell Street. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. Calling hours are Wednesday, December 16th from 5:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
