Mrs. Elizabeth A. “Betty” Marquis, 85, of 852 Fourth Ave., Berlin, NH passed away on Saturday December 12, 2009 at her home. She was born in Berlin, NH on October 1, 1924 the daughter of Fred and Hilda (Beckwith) Pilgrim and lived most of her life in Berlin. She was a graduate of Berlin High School and worked in the office for Brown Company. Betty was a lifelong, active member of St. Barnabas Episcopal Church. She helped out at Gill’s Flowers for many years at Holiday times, did bookkeeping out of her home and enjoyed arts and crafts.
Members of the family include her husband James Marquis of Berlin, NH; 1 daughter Donna DeBlois and husband David of Bristol, NH; 2 sons Norman Marquis and wife Patricia of Weare, NH and Scott Marquis and wife Lisa of Manchester, CT; 2 grandchildren Darcie Rivard and Alexander Marquis; 2 great-grandchildren Vera and Margaret; 1 brother George Pilgrim and wife Joan of Bath, ME; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday December 15, 2009 at 1 PM at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church. Interment will be in the New City Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., Berlin on Monday evening from 6 to 8 PM.
