Mary L. Warren, 82, of Derry, NH, died Thursday, September 11, 2003 at the Integrated Health Services in Derry. She was born in Nottingham, NH on July 29, 1921 a daughter of the late Charles and Rose (Greenwood) Hayes and lived most of her life in Derry where she had attended Derry schools. She was employed as a kitchen manager and cook in the Derry School system for over 30 years, retiring in 1996. She was a member of the American Legion Lester Chase Post #9 Ladies Auxiliary in Derry and a former member of the Sweet Adelines. Mrs. Warren was a volunteer for over 30 years at the Alexander-Eastman Hospital which is now Parkland Medical Center. She was a member of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church in Derry where she had taught Sunday School. She was the widow of Earl F. Warren Sr. who died in 1997.
She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Robert (Priscilla L.) Taylor of Bedford, NH, Rosemary W. Nicoll of Derry, Mrs. Gene (Shirley A.) Nesmith of Derry, one son, Earl F. Warren, Jr. and his wife Patricia of Derry, 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and one niece.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 15th at 10:00 at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. The burial will follow in the Forest Hill Cemetery in East Derry. Friends may call on Sunday from 2 - 5pm in the funeral home. The family requests donations in her memory may be made to St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, 63 E.
