John W. Maholland, 79, Clarksville, died Friday, December 11, 2009, at Gateway Medical Center. The funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Neal-Tarpley Chapel with Brother Gene Parton officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Saturday at the funeral home. Neal-Tarpley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. He was born December 24, 1929 in Decatur, Alabama son of the late Homer Maholland, Sr. and Cassie Miller Maholland. He was retired from Greyhound Bus Lines and had served in the National Guard. He was a member of First Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Steve Maholland (Andrea), Pleasant View, TN; a daughter, Terre Ralls (Allen), Dover, TN; and five grandchildren, John, Andrew, and Luke Maholland and Ben and Beth Ralls. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Pleasant View Christian School, Hicks Edgen Road, Pleasant View, TN 37146.
