ROSS, Margaret E. (Keniston)- Of Malden, peacefully passed away on December 10th at Woodbriar of Wilmington at 101 years of age. Daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Hickey) Keniston. Sister of the late Joseph Keniston, Mae Higgins, Lillian Fyfe, Helen Murphy and Dorothy Keniston.
The wife of 54 years of the late George W. Ross, she was the mother of Barbara Stefanilo and her husband Red of Malden, George Ross and his wife Clarice of Wilmington, William Ross and his wife Doris of Wilmington, Mary D'Alleva and her husband Louis of Everett. Her extended family included 10 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
A lifelong resident of malden, she was a member of Chevrus High's first graduation class of 1927. She was a dedicated member of St. Joseph's Church where she was married in 1936 and was a 50 year member of the Maplewood Catholic Daughters. She served the needy for 10 years at St. francis House in Boston and was a 35 year member of the Secular Order of Franciscans at St. Anthony's Shrine. her proudest possession is the Papal Blessing presented to her on her 100th birthday by her Pastor, Father Bill Minigan.
A 20 year resident of 120 Mountain Avenue who was loved by all who made their home there and will be sadly missed. She dedicated her life to God, her Church, her family, her community and to those in need. She was a very special person.
Family and friends are kindly invited to attend a Funeral from the Carroll Funeral Home, 721 Salem Street, (Maplewood Square) MALDEN on Monday, December 14th at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated in St. Joseph's Church, 770 Salem Street, Malden at 10 o'clock. Visiting Hours in the Carroll Funeral Home on Sunday from 4-8 PM. Services will conclude with interment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. Expressions of sympathy in Margaret's name may be made to a Charity of your choice.
