Cook, Sherley E. "Sam", "Sonny", "Ed", 71, passed away Tuesday (12/08/09) at Jewish Medical Center Southwest.
He was born in Louisville to Carl L. & Sarah (Watt) Cook.
He was a retired Sales Representative for Met Life and American General Life Insurance Co. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran and was a member of Eastern Parkway Baptist Church, St. Matthews Masonic Lodge # 906 F&AM, Aahmed Grotto, Scottish Rite, Kosair Shrine Temple, Past Commander Kosair Legion of Honor, American Legion Zachary Taylor Post, J & H Sportsman Club, Kentucky Colonel, & University of Kentucky Alumni Association.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, Sister: Juanita Jecker; Brother: Roscoe E. Cook; & Grandson: Jason Pablo.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Sue (Cantrell) Cook and his children: Cindy Pablo and Keith E. Cook; 3 Grandchildren: Brenda Pablo, Kayla Cook, & Kyle Cook; and Sister: Merle Jean May. Also surviving are many loving nieces & nephews.
Funeral Services will be Friday 1:00 PM at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy, with burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
Visitation: Thursday 3 - 9 PM & 9 - 1 PM Friday. Expressions of Sympathy: Kosair Charities.
