Obituary

BILLERICA—Paul E. Gagnon, Sr., died Saturday evening at his home after a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Virginia M. (Hunt) Gagnon.

He was born in Claremont, NH, on May 12, 1931, a son of the late Frank L. and Blanche R. (Hamelin) Gagnon, and was educated in Billerica Public Schools.

Mr. Gagnon served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. He had been employed as an Engineer by Thermo Environmental, in Franklin, until his retirement in 1997.

He was an avid fisherman and loved to fish the ocean off the shores of Plum Island. He also had a love of animals, and was a collector of arrowheads.

Surviving him are two sons and daughters-in-law: Paul E. and Debra Gagnon, Jr., of Wells, ME; Michael F. and Kristine Gagnon, of Billerica; two daughters and one son-in-law: Susan M. and Michael Conley, of Billerica, and Dawn C. Gagnon, of Billerica; eight grandchildren: Jessica, Derrick, Jason, Matthew, Devon, Vanessa Gagnon and Theresa and Daniel Conley; a brother and sister-in-law: Louis J. Gagnon, of Ormond Beach, FL; two sisters and a brother-in-law: Margaret R. Bean, of Chelmsford; and Gloria and William Fortin, of Lowell; special friends: Blackie and Blondie Gagnon; also many nieces and nephews.

There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held Saturday September 27th at 11 AM at the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 Nesmith Street, (Rte. 38), Lowell. Please omit flowers.
