WAREHAM -- Alice V. (Peterson) Buckley, 83, of Mattapoisett died Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2003, at Tobey Hospital, surrounded by her family. She was the widow of Raymond A. Buckley; they were married in 1954.
Born in Brockton, she was the daughter of the late Swante M. Peterson and Beda J. (Hallin) Peterson. She graduated from Brockton High School in 1938.
Mrs. Buckley began her career managing the home of a prominent Brockton family. Her time in this position was special to her and provided many cherished memories that she shared with family and friends.
She graduated from Williams Business School and worked at the Eastern Massachusetts Transit Authority. She later was a school bus driver for the Old Rochester/Old Colony school districts.
She was a member of the Tinkhamtown sewing circle, the Lutheran Church of Brockton and the Mattapoisett Congregational Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Katherine H. Buckley, Jane E. Ryan and her husband, Kenneth, and Karin L. Kingsland and her husband, William; three sons, Ray A. Buckley and his wife, Flordeliza, Matthew Buckley and his wife, Andrea, and Luke M. Buckley and his companion, Christine Mendes; and nine grandchildren, Sean Ryan, Andrew Ryan, MaryAnn Buckley, Thomas Buckley, Tyler Kingsland, Zachary Kingsland, Amanda Kingsland, Bryan Buckley and Alexander Buckley.
Her funeral will be at 9 a.m. Saturday September 13, 2003 at the Wilson Chapel, 479 County St., New Bedford Ma. Visiting hours Friday from 6 - 9 PM. Burial will be in Cushing Cemetery, Mattapoisett, Ma.
