Peter James Cameron, 77, died peacefully at home on Tuesday, December 1, 2009 after a long battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of the late Ernestine M. (Sattler) Cameron who passed away in 1999. He was the Fiancé of Donna Gammon who was his constant companion for the last seven years; they first met in Maine in the early 50's and were reunited in 2003 after Peter looked up his old sweetheart, born in Wilton, Maine on December 21, 1931. He was a son of the late Peter and Vertie (Harris) Cameron. He was educated in Wilton, graduating from Wilton Academy. He served in the Army in the 1950's. It was while serving in Germany, that Peter met his wife Ernestine; they were married in 1955. They moved to Taunton from Maine in the early 60's. He worked for many years at Mason Box until retirement. He was a member of the Italian Social Club, where he enjoyed playing in the Bocce League. He also enjoyed fishing, tying flies, stamp collecting, gardening and attending his great-grandchildren's sporting events. He was a life long Red Sox fan and was thrilled when they finally won the World Series. He is survived by his daughter, Ursula Ferguson and her husband James of Taunton, as well as his dear granddaughter Diana Gray, her husband James and his much loved great-grandchildren Cameron, Shannon, Spencer and Mimi Gray, all of North Attleboro, MA. He was the dear brother of Sclastic Partridge, Margaret Ross, Richard Cameron and his wife Marlene, and the late Andrew Cameron; also survived by many nieces, nephews and numerous cousins.
