Arthur T. Spillane of Norton, formerly of Brockton and Easton, died Friday, December 4, 2009 at the age of 59 after a short, but courageous battle with cancer. He was the son of the late Arthur E. and Myrtle B. (Smart) Spillane. Born in Brockton, Art attended Brockton public schools and St. Edward’s School and graduated from Xaverian Brothers High School in Westwood. During his life, Art worked at a variety of jobs; for the past few years, he owned and operated a landscaping business. He enjoyed being in the outdoors, fishing, woodworking and spending time with his friends and family. Art leaves three sisters, Susan Murphy and Ellen Crowley and her husband, Patrick, of Easton and Janice Spillane of East Dennis; four nephews, Daniel and Matthew Murphy of Easton, Sean Crowley of Rosedale, MD, and Brendan Crowley of Easton, and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He also leaves many good friends, including Margaret Regan of Norton. Services to be announced in January.
