Douglas R. Charland, 59, of Reed Rd., Sandown, died Saturday, October 6, 2001, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Manchester.
He was born in Manchester on August 5, 1942 a son of the late William H. and Edith L. (Kennedy) Charland, and had been a resident of Sandown for over 30 years.
Mr. Charland was a US Army Vietnam veteran. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, TV and writing poetry.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly A. Charland of Sandown, his daughter-in-law, Gloria J. Brady of Danville, his son-in-law, Walter C. Horak Sr., one grandson, Daniel E. Horak Sr., two great grandchildren, Rachel Marie Horak, Daniel E. Horak Jr., two sisters, Wilma Harris of Londonderry, Rosemond Charland of Hopkinton, one brother, George Charland of Florida, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
There are no calling hours. Following cremation, a graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 11th, at 11:00 at Center Cemetery in Sandown.
