TAUNTON – Catherine A. (Glidden) Glidden - Amaral, died unexpectedly at her Taunton home on Dec. 4, 2009.
She was 63.
Born in Taunton, the daughter of the late Elbridge and Laura (McDonald) Glidden, she grew up in East Taunton and was a Taunton High School graduate.
Employed as a secretary by AIMCO for the past ten years, she spent much of her working day at the School St. and Mill Pond Apartments.
Earlier, she was employed by Olson’s Home of Flowers for over fifteen years.
Mrs. Glidden-Amaral enjoyed attending yard sales in her spare time, but was happiest when in the company of her grandchildren.
Survivors include two sons, Scott M. Amaral, his wife Jeannette, and Christopher M. Amaral, all of Taunton; two sisters, Mary Williams of E. Taunton and Barbara Glidden of Taunton; two grandchildren, Kailyn M. Amaral and Seamus J. Maher-Amaral, both of Taunton; one niece and three nephews.
She was also the former wife of James F. Amaral of Taunton and the sister of the late Elbridge Glidden.
Funeral Services will be held at the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway on Tuesday, Dec. 8th at 11 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Monday, Dec. 7th from 5 to 8 p.m.
