Robert L. Cromer, 84, of Tifton died Wednesday, December 2, 2009, at his residence. Private funeral services and burial will be held at a later date.
Mr. Cromer was born on November 26, 1925 in Tift County and was the son of Leon Cromer and Versa Cola Paulk Cromer Hand, both deceased. He was retired from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, where he served as a campus policeman, and was a member of Victory Baptist Church. He also served in the United States Army in World War II.
Mr. Cromer is survived by his wife of 66 years, Geneva Whitley Cromer of Tifton; two sons, Gerald Cromer of Tifton and Don Cromer of Chula; one daughter, Delores Marchant of Tifton; eight grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
