Joseph H. Remillard, 85, of Derry, NH died on Thursday November 12, 2009 at Parkland Medical Center, Derry. Joe was born in Brownington Center, Vermont and was raised and educated in Lawrence and lived in Lawrence until moving to Derry in 2006. He was a longtime member of St Patrick's Parish, Lawrence and for many years, he owned and operated Arrow Taxi of Lawrence. Joe was a highly decorated veteran of WW II serving with The US Army and was the recipient of The Purple Heart, Bronze Star and he also received The Presidential Citation. He was a member of The 166th Engineer Combat Battalion and served under General Patten in The Battle of The Bulge. Joe was an optimistic person. He always had a good outlook on life and was a friend to everyone.
The widower of Bertha (Smith) Remillard, his family members include his longtime companion, Marguerite Ringland of Derry, NH and her daughter, Sandra Ringland and grandson, Ryan Crete all of Derry. He leaves 2 brothers, Ronald and John Remillard and his sister, Marcelle Peterof. and many nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his brothers and sister, Raymond, Leger and Richard Remillard and Lorraine Remillard.

Friends may call on Tuesday November 17, 2009 from 9 to 10:30 am at The Arthur J. Scott Funeral Home, 298 South Broadway, Lawrence. A Funeral Mass will follow on Tuesday at 11:00 am in St Patrick's Church, Lawrence. Burial will be in The Massachusetts Veterans National Cemetery, Bourne, MA.
