George W. Brooks Sr., 81, of 25 Union Ave. died Sunday morning, September 7, 2003 in Epsom Manor after a period of failing health. He was born in Quincy MA on Sept. 28, 1921, the son of George H. and Lurlene (Avery) Brooks. He has resided in the Lakes Region since 1970.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed by Gene Caroselli Painting Contractor for many years. Mr. Brooks was a Navy veteran of World War II.
His wife, Lucille (Bemis) Brooks died in April 2000.
Family members include six sons, George W. Brooks Jr. of Windsor NH, John Brooks of Plymouth MA, Ronald Brooks of Vero Beach FL, Richard Brooks of Quincy MA, Kenneth Brooks and Gary Brooks, both of South Boston MA; three daughters, Nancy Sassone of Charlestown MA, Joan Rakes of Plymouth MA and Patricia Sullivan of Provincetown MA; 29 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; three sisters, June, Mary and Peewee; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was pre-deceased by brothers, John, Charlie, Eddie and a sister, Florence McLaughlin.
There are no calling hours. A graveside committal ceremony for George and his wife Lucille will be held Saturday, September 20th at the family lot in Trinity Cemetery, Holderness NH at 1:30 PM. The Simoneau & Lambert Funeral Home, 139 Church St., Laconia is assisting the family with arrangements.
