CHARLTON, MA;
Douglas Kent Clough, 68, of Charlton, MA passed Wednesday, December 2 at home surrounded by his loving family after a long battle with Lou Gehrig’s disease. He was born April 17, 1941 in Holden, MA born to the late John Paul Clough and Reubena (Bartlett) Clough, of Worcester, MA.
He leaves behind his wife of 20 years, Katherine C. (Morang) Clough, his five children; Kimberly Morse and husband Ted, Kellie Clough-Doyle and husband Mark, Karen Eskridge and husband Brian, all of Virginia Beach, VA, Jill Clough-Battista and Joshua Clough of Charlton, MA, four grandchildren; Evan Eskridge, Alex and Kaylin Morse, and Nolan Battista and his older brother John Clough and his wife Maureen of Eastham, MA and his sister-in-law Joanne (Clough) Snyder of Fultonville, NY. He is predeceased by his siblings; Byron Clough, David Clough, and Gretchen (Clough) Cook. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. Doug left many family and friends to carry on his memory, laughter, and life as well as his beloved dogs Lady and Maize and his grand-doggers Winnie, and Annabelle.
Doug served in the U.S. Navy from 1960-1964. He worked for Mass Electric (National Grid) for 38 years and was past president of Local 330 BUW. After retirement, he owned and operated D & K Barkmulch and was also a member of the American Legion Post 443, Cherry Valley, MA. He enjoyed camping, telling jokes, coffee with friends, playing cards, and reminiscing with his family.
Visiting hours will be held Friday, December 4th from 4-7 pm at J. Henri Morin Funeral Home 23 Maple Terrace (Route 31) Spencer, MA. The funeral will be held Saturday, December 5th 10:00am at Charlton Federated Church 64 Main Street, Charlton followed by burial at Hope Cemetery, Worcester with Military Honors, where he will be buried with his parents, his grandparents, his brother, and the ashes of his Scottie Dog, Cricket.
