William J. “BG” Gaunt, Sr., 76 of Medford, died Tuesday after a brief illness in the Mt. Auburn Hospital, Cambridge, MA.
Born in Boston, he lived in Medford for over 70 years and was the son of the late Olive (Sears) and Harold Gaunt. William was the Proprietor of Toyota of Boston and Boston Nissan for 30 years and retired in 1991. He was a member of the 100th Club, the Ancient and Honorable Artillery Company of Massachusetts, the Irish-American Club of Malden. William was a late U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War from 1953 to 1955.
Beloved husband of the late Louise K. (Regazzini) Gaunt. Devoted father of Elaine M. O'Handley, William J. Gaunt Jr. and his wife Jeanne all of Medford, and the late Patricia Gaunt. Loving grandfather of Major Gregory Napoli, Christopher Napoli, Nicole and Frankie O'Handley, William and David Gaunt.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Saturday at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 441 Fellsway West, Medford, at 10 AM.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
Visiting hours Friday 4 - 8.
Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
